Volunteer Spotlight - Shane Hennerbichler
At Trail Operations we love to recognize those employees that dedicate their time to make our community great.
Shane Hennerbichler has been an incredible force in the Rossland community, giving countless hours to support events, music, and trails. For nine years, Shane has contributed to the Rossland Mountain Film Festival, helping bring stories and adventure to life during both the spring and winter festivals, hosting multiple events over three weeks each year. Alongside this, Shane has provided nearly a decade of audio and video support for community events, from shows at Rossland Beer Co.—including celebrations of life—to a movie night for kids at the Rossland French School, ensuring every event runs smoothly. Over the past two years, Shane has also helped run all music events at the Rossland Blizzard Music Festival, creating memorable experiences for performers and audiences alike. Beyond events, Shane dedicates weekly time to mountain bike trail building and maintenance, helping preserve and improve outdoor spaces for everyone to enjoy
“For me, volunteering is about giving back and helping to shape the place I’m lucky enough to live in. I believe in leaving your community better than when you arrived, and volunteering is one of the most meaningful ways to do that. Rossland , and the Kootenays as a whole, wouldn’t have the same energy, culture, or sense of belonging without people contributing their time and skills.
On a personal level, volunteering connects me with people I might not otherwise meet, and it allows me to share my passion for events, trails, and culture in a way that helps others. To me, community strength is built on the people willing to invest in it, and I’ve seen firsthand how those efforts ripple out to create opportunities, experiences, and memories for everyone.”
We sincerely thank Shane for everything he has done to make our community stronger. His dedication, passion, and generosity of time continue to inspire and uplift everyone around him.
